- Greetings from the eastern U.S. of A. I am a New York native, for many years living in New Jersey (and, recently, Pennsylvania) along the lovely Delaware River. There is a serene, peaceful beauty to this valley region, with its rolling hills, old farms, and of course, the abundant wildlife which makes the fields and river its home. What we lack in dramatic scenery we make up for in seasonal variety: the northeast can have brutal winters and merciless summers. The region is alive from spring through fall with wildflowers, colorful birds and numerous varieties of deciduous trees, which make for some of the most stunning autumn beauty on earth. The winters are bare and meditative, often harsh…but rarely predictable. If you love nature, it is hard to be bored here any time of year. I have a blind friend who has never seen any of it, but feeds her imagination on the sounds and scents carried on the wind… and she has often remarked that it is a beautiful place to live.
Oh yes, photography: I have been on this site on and off for the past 4 years – though mostly off the last 2. I hope to get back soon with photos of my upcoming summer travels.
