Converted to B/W and did some minor touchups. Also did shadow recovery plus brightness/contrast adjustments in Photoshop.

I thought the photo was a little dark overall so I lightened it plus did a little extra lightening and shrapening around the eyes. I also turned down the contrast a little.

I think this photo can be improved a little. I just did a quick edit in Photoshop using levels, curves and shadow highlight. This is just a sample.

I mainly got rid of the bright highlights on the right. I used the spot healing brush, the clone stamp and a little burning and dodging.
I also adjusted the levels and curves just a little and did some very minor sharpening.

I converted it to B/W in Photoshop and then used a combination of the healing brush, the clone tool and some dodging and burning to clean up the background. How do you like the results?

I used the clone tool to get rid of the black on the right side and also a litle above his head. I used layers and adjusted the levels and curves and also a little sharpness mainly on his face.
