This reduces the slight flatness in the original, and draws the viewer into the image more. I've also desaturated the non-sky parts to emphasise the sunset, and increased the contrast slightly with curves. Hope you like it :) |

(1703) [2004-04-10 20:19:47] | I've worked on two things: Composition and the B/W greyscale.
Compo: Cropped away the sides of the bench for a simpler more 'graphic' comp. Its also cropped as to locate the squirrel in the corner of the pic. Rotated canvas so the diagonal goes upper-left to lower right (empirical data suggest that people who reads left to right find such diagonals more pleasing (so this is not an improvement for people in, say, the arab speaking world)).
Greyscale: The pic lacks, in my view, contrast. This is a typical problem for digitally desaturated pics. If you have a colour version try to play around in the channel mixer for a 'richer' greyscale. Since I didn't have that option, I've just provided contrast by playing around in 'curves'.
