I took the colour version and gave him an enormous boost with levels, saturation and selective colours to produce pure white snow and a blue sky. After that the b&w conversion and re-framing the landscape.
Please don't understand me wrong, i love the original composition, but this tighter crop was just a second thought...

Hope this white is white enough ;-)

I have a very bright screen, and i still see some detail in the snow, hope you also see it because there sure is enough information to bring this white out...

It seems all kind of tricks, but all i did was a lot of painting with light and colour after a decent level correction and a colour boost on certain parts using some saturation adjustment layer masks.

If you don't like it i will remove it...

I did NOT add any colour here, what you see is inside the image after not that much pp work.

* level adjustment layer with masking
* contrast adjustment layer with masking
* saturation adjustment layer with masking
* noise reduction (after editing)
* 20% edge sharpening on selective areas

It's just to show you what's inside an image that looks a bit dull of the colours and detail.

Get rid of that ugly background and more focus on the girl and her great pair of eyes.

* More and deeper contrast
* Correction on the levels
* Bit more saturation
* Painting with shadow layers in the far background to bring up that town in front
* Deeper blue gradient in the sky
* A warmer glow against the rocks on the right

More drama in the sky with a stronger touch in the final toning in the deep blacks and bright whites....more contrast on certain parts.

A lot of work Thomas, but the only thing that is not real is that sky. I made a new one with a blue gradient because the real sky in yours is to bright to find any information inside to work with.

The rest of the colours are real, they are just the same as in yours, i only pushed them up with a deeper colour toning, more contrast and more light, more saturation.

It looks now more like a fairytale castle, but at least that is what i thought i should look like ;-)

The original lacks a bit of contrast and colours. I gave it a large boost with a play with levels, contrast, saturation and strokes with brushes in combination with a deeper blue sky.
