I started with playing around on the individual colour channels with the hue, saturation and lightness.
Then I added some contrast.

Added some dynamic range to the foreground with velvia vision plugin and last unsharp masked a bit to make the trees stand out even more.

Hope you like it!

It was small, very small, but it was there! 0.8 degrees country clockwise rotation adjustment.

And a small unsharp mask since I was busy anyhow:

80% unsharp mask, 0.3 pix radius, 0 treshold. Then edit-fade to lighter 100% opacity.

80% unsharp mask, 0.3 pix radius, 0 treshold. Then edit-fade to darker 100% opacity.

Last I rebuilt the framing with the canvas option.

Hope you like it!

First I used Auto-Levels and Auto-Colors in Photoshop to make it brighter and make the colors look more natural. Then I did a little correction to the colors (took out some red from the mid-tones), and I straightened the horizon.
P.S. I had crop off the original frame in order for the Auto controls to work properly in Photoshop, so I just put a black border on when I was finished.

Mode change to greyscale.
Then mode change to duotone.
Changed it to quad tone.
Loaded pantone quad tone profile 4.

Mode back to rgb, since otherwise I would not be able to save it as a jpeg.

I cropped the photo to cut out most of the blown out sun area in the upper right. Then I selected the vegetation in the lower left, refined the edge by raising the contrast slider to minimize artifacts, and then used Levels to brighten the midtones slightly.
