With the contrast mask I got much deeper blue and vivid green. With Neat Image I took some noise away. Finally, a slight sharpening to enhance the kites in the sky.

I tried to remove the noise that was seen over the sky due to the variation in lighting. I used neat image to do this. Hope you like it.

Changed RGB to greyscales.
Cropped 4:3
Brightened the whole picture slightly.
Chose the protagonist with the lasso-tool.
Tolerance 5 pixels.
Brightened.
USM-filtre.

It may be my monitor, but this shot seems very dark to me. Bumped the levels just enough to brighten the armour.
