Despite the appeal of the red, I also like the b&W version. Why? I think it accentuates the tranquility. I'm sure 90% of people disagree with me though!

Minor adjustments in levels & curves to bring out the sunset hues. Lastly reduced the luminance. Hope you like this.

I really liked the prior photo, but felt that the real subject of the photo was being minimized, that of the mother and son. I croped the photo to minimize the distraction of the river and to better frame the people. I also applied a bit of yellow to make the greens 'pop' and the skin tones look better. I applied a small bit of sharpening to give the leaves and grass more detail. I wish that I had the original to work from as the 800 pixel limit is a problem when cropping as much as I did.

Superbe votre photo, juste un petit avis personnel , à mon avis si on la recadre légèrement comme ça et qu'on l'inverse, elle est beaucoup plus lisible, l'œil accroche en premier les personnages et ensuite le point de fuite vers l'horizon!
Mais c'est juste mon avis ! En tout cas, bravo pour votre image !

Crop and rotate, copy grass from different aria to cover shadows, adjustments of contrast and levels and framing.

This workshop is just an experiment, to see if I could create the atmosphere of an infra-red film in the shot.

To do this, I copied the full image so there were two layers, both the same.

In layer 1, I used the 'Channel Mixer', set to 'monochromatic', and adjusted the sliders to 0% red, 0% green, and 100% blue.

I did the same for layer 2, but with the sliders at 0% red, 100% green, 0% blue.

I then used the eraser, with a soft edged brush, set to about 60%, to wipe clear the 'green' layer, in everything except the trees at the top and left of the image.

An absoloutley beautiful shot, with great colours and composition.

I posted the workshop just to lighten the image slightly, to bring out more of the wonderful bluebells.

In photoshop, I adjusted the levels, and incresed saturation in the blues, greens, and yellows.

J'ai diminué légèrement par le bas pour donner plus d'importance à la tour et pour retirer le petit détail gênant sur le gazon.

I decreased slightly by bottom to give more importance to the tower and to withdraw the small awkward detail on the grass.
