| Intro: | WELCOME IN MY GALLERY! When taking pictures the most important thing for me is to have some kind of 'rapport', a connection to what I am photographing. A subject has to do something to me. This probably means I'm not the most technical of photographers. When travelling I like to go very slow to really take in the places we visit. We always travel with a minimum of luggage and a maximum of goodwill. My favourite travel destinations are mostly in the Far-East. Last summer I spent six weeks travelling the Chinese provinces Hebei, Shanxi, Shaanxi and Henan. Most of my uploads are from that trip. Our favourite in-betweenies used to be across the Channel, but since we have a daughter (who is not allowed in pubs), we have begun to discover our other neighbouring countries, especially France. In our big next trip we will return to South-East Asia. We plan to visit Isaan (the east of Thailand) and we will also return the Mekong Delta, where we lived from 1999 until 2001. Countdown has started! What else can I add? I live in Antwerp, I'm married and I've got a wonderful four year old daughter. Besides travelling and photography, I'm into literature and John Coltrane, currently discovering the wonderful sounds of Tomasz Stanko and, o yes, I'm a Liverpool fan. At the moment I'm posting some older pictures. Yep, I've bought a scanner...so you can expect some carefully selected pictures from Cuba (1997), Western China (1998), Vietnam (1999-2001), Thailand and Malaysia (1999), Myanmar (2000), South-West China (2001), Mali (2002), Malaysia (2004), Central Turkey (2005)...along with various European outings. Your critiques are a welcome source of inspiration and learning. I really appreciate them. Thanks a lot for taking your time to visit my gallery.
