Your portrait picture is very nice certainly the faces of both people.
Very well done, TFS.

Ok, is it just me....or is that a very creepy sight in the window on the left side. what is that????? is that a painting or something in the window? it doesn't look real and it looks so creepy haha
classic European style with these row homes set up like this, and classic overblown sky in Scotland :)
always fun to see something new and different. cheers
macjake (72555) 2017-03-27 23:05
you can show us these photos any time my friend!
and why not right? Just look how beautiful and tranquil this place is.
Really like the sloping fg lines, the body of water and its blue colors and of course the mountain range in the bg topping it all off. beauty!
macjake (72555) 2017-03-27 23:02
how did I miss this one from your gallery? Pick a boat any boat! haha
Looking at your scene, I like the angled row in the fg, the apartments in the bg right corner, the hillsides, and the overall lighting and exposure - its spot on. well executed shot my friend.
macjake (72555) 2017-03-27 22:58
I guess coming to this sight is probably on the bucket list for so many people right? How was it in person for the first time? did it live up to expectation? I ask because sometimes it can be a let-down.
of course, the combination of yellows and blues work well, its so naturally attractive. Good on you to get back in to capture this scene without people around - was that your goal? so much mystery with these subjects, looks great.

I've always been a fan of these winter scenes, especially when there's a blue sky involved with bright lighting. Here we can the tree branches heavily coated in snow/ice, cool light and excellent cloud coverage. whats not to like! well shot
macjake (72555) 2017-03-27 22:43
wow, London sure has changed hasn't it!
But yes, sad to hear about the news for obvious reasons.
Looking at this scene there appears to be so much glass, and the light is striking it beautifully. Love the strange building on the left. and yeah, lots of silvery tones making it stand out well. cheers
macjake (72555) 2017-03-27 22:40
what a difference it makes having the animals in the scene, they surprisingly provide alot more color and I like how they're spread about the scene. fine lighting all around, and I enjoy the angled sight lines. cheers
macjake (72555) 2017-03-27 22:37
splendid shot here my friend. I don't think you could possibly get this scene any sharper or any clearer.
the lighting striking that stone is an easy 10 out of 10.
loving the total contrast between the colors and the water. such an attractive scene with tons of depth. well done.
macjake (72555) 2017-03-27 22:21
I know the statue is the main focal point here, but I cant help but take a look at the buildings in the bg. Strange how the light brown building seems so out of place with the white and orange ones beside it. Very different styles. Obviously I like the white one best.
interesting story about Helvetia, and honestly, i've never heard of it before - or at least I can't remember.
excellent scene, something new for me to experience.
You're on your way to China soon? Do you ever stay home? haha Cheers
macjake (72555) 2017-03-27 22:11
yes, I remember your shots from here.
This one may be one of your best of the series.
there's something about the burgundy colour against the blue sky which makes it stand out so well. its a beauty for sure.
sweet lighting too. love the fact we can see all the rivets.
macjake (72555) 2017-03-27 22:02
wow! what a beautiful day for taking a few photos and walking around the city. I wish I was here for this :)
The side lighting on the left is so attractive, so is the lighting striking the little arched bridge. Looks like the bridge has been replaced as its a different color of stone.
excellent depth, clarity, blue sky, everything! wonderful.
macjake (72555) 2017-03-27 21:58
Firstly, I'm glad you pointed out the phrase Brutalist Architecture. Most people don't even know that's an actual architectural style! what are your thoughts about it?
Personally, i think the brutalist style is so ugly its beautiful. We have a few buildings in that construction in Vancouver and people hate them haha
are the girls actually hiding from you, are are they really just protecting themselves from the sun and wanting shade?
interesting history about Ho Chi Minh, i didn't know that.
fun TE post. looks great. cheers
macjake (72555) 2017-03-27 21:53
There's just something about this scene, it caught my attention from your gallery page. I love that dark blue colour, its very rich and elegant looking. so is the window trim, simple yet so attractive, effective compo with the window offset to the left a bit. cheers
macjake (72555) 2017-03-27 21:48
wow, top notch photo! honestly. One of your best.
and seeing it on Beta only makes it better right!
You only had 1 day in this great city? that would be so hard, where do you start...well here i guess haha
Looking at the graphics of your shot, I'm suddenly having a strong urge to play checkers or something!
love it, so much geometry going on. cheers
abmdsudi (57720) 2017-03-27 21:46
It looks like a wonderful place, gteat panorama and almost like I'm standing in this historic little pueblo. The layering of colour and contrast are spot on under brill spotless blue sky!! Congrats
macjake (72555) 2017-03-27 21:45
I know there are TE members who really don't like the tilt and lean in these tall buildings, but for me, i love the perspective tilt.
Awesome light, awesome clouds, and the way the Cathedral dominates the frame makes a strong visual impact. fine photo from top to bottom, sweet shot. cheers
abmdsudi (57720) 2017-03-27 19:47
A breath taking landscape and heavenly warm light illustrating spring colours at it best that you've grabbed timely providing a visually interesting focus straight onto the main features. Superb capture, Congrats
