this place is very lovely and I like very much the way in which you structured your composition using the surrounding vegetation like a frame to the picturesque, quiet and mysterious village. The view is deep and comprehensive with excellent details. Apart from the intriguing village, I like the different kinds of vegetation and the various shades of green. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great weekend,
PS Thank you for posting your picture as a workshop! It's interesting and the portrait adds to the emotion conveyed.

this looks (and sounds) like a fruit found, or so they say, only on Leros and in no other part of Greece. It's called gawafa and has a very strong aroma and flavor. You either love it or hate it and I don't love it at all. I like very much the strong green colour in your photo, though, and love the girl's broad and friendly smile that shines like a gem in an environment that doesn't look very pleasant. A heart warming spontaneous portrait, congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great weekend,

Hello Harriet - I seldom see such subtlety of light and certainly don't experience the cold winter weather and darkness you speak of. There is a beauty in the seasonal changes that I miss. Here the images hovers between an oppressive atmosphere and one of promise; will the sun managed to pierce the gloom more strongly? There is a pretty light peeping through the clouds and dancing bright reflections on the sea. No drama here but a shot that well describes the season.

Hello Bob - I like the way you explain this composition in your note, it's interesting to read of a photographer's reasoning and encourages us all to consider what we are doing before we press the shutter.
We see many autumn shots on TE right now but not many that feature the fallen leaves. Here they are pushed up against a wall and both wall and leaves have lots of good textural detail. As you say the group of people add interest but I like the fact that they are additions rather that the main focus of your shot.
There is a lot to enjoy here, I like your creative thinking and well managed shot very much.

Hello Georg - There is an attractive, delicate, wintery light here which adds wonderfully to the mood of your shot and I like the way you have presented the colours so subtly. Finely detailed and well managed, I like this composition very much

Good Morning Nicou - There is such a feeling of serenity in this shot. I like the simplicity of the composition and the fine balance you have achieved, the thin ribbon of land and leafless trees on the RHS is a really beautiful element. Airy and uncluttered, this appeals to me, the small red window is a nice extra!

A shot that takes full advantage of lead in lines and thirds Bev; this could be a text book illustration of the 'rules of composition'. An attractive rural scene that is lifted from the mundane by the attractive warm light. I love the way you have included the fine filigree of overhead twigs, without them the shot wouldn't work half as well.
