This photo is very similar to another one of Valparaiso I've posted last year in a workshop.
Both of them show a slide in a small playground for children built between the houses.
Just like in Valparaiso also in Medellin I felt strongly attracted to the suburbs on the hills.
Afterwards I realized that this picture isn’t perhaps very flattering for the girl on top.
But she’s still a child and I really hope people understand this picture is shown only for its documentary character.
It is known that elephants have an excellent memory. Here these animals have the function to remember the terrible times that the people of the barrio have known.
The residents find it important that their children learn what has happened.

Here you have an idea of how some roads in Comuna 13 look like.
You also get a glimpse of the barrios on the hills on the other side of the valley.
