Here, is my photograph taken from the cable car.
I hope you can appreciate the height above the river and what a magnificent view it would create on a sunny day.

As everywhere around this part of Germany, vineyards abound.

There isn't a great deal of difference but the detail extractor has brought the statue out from the background.

This is the more common view of the Porta Nigre and gives a very busy impression.

At this point, you can pick up a red train which takes visitors around the ancient city.

You can see the Baird's Circle in this shot.
It is not an ancient site but I could certainly see it being a wonderful, imaginative place for children to play!

Here, you can see how the pier stretches out into the Irish Sea, with the wind farm just visible in the distance.

This is the cathedral of St.Asaph.
Because of the cathedral, St.Asaph has been given the title of city and is the smallest city in the U.K.

This is the doorway to Gawthorpe Hall. It is quite ornate.
You can also see the many Tudor mullioned windows.

This is Gawthorpe Hall on a February afternoon. The light kept constantly changing; one minute there were signs of the sun, then it was lightly snowing!

Sadly we were informed that the building would not be open until Easter, something to look forward to!

Here, you can see inside the aisled barn.

These massive buildings were extremely strong and adaptable for different types of farming.

When you look at the wooden supports, it is possible to see that trunks were halved for to make 'A' symmetrical supports.
