This is the impressive gate house, which has to be entered on the way to the castle.

This is a shot from the woods at Formby, home to the endangered red squirrels. It was a lovely day and we were very hopeful, but the squirrels were obviously not co-operating, this day.
It was so amusing, watching people walk around the wood, faces towards the tops of the trees, as if perpetually sunbathing!

    Regards,
    Bev :-)

This is another view of a vaccary wall.
In some cases stones have fallen or, in the past, been removed to use in other building projects.
It is surprising that so many have remained for stone was a useful commodity.

    Bev :-)

    Hello Everyone,

This shows some of the rows of standing stones and, I hope, gives an impression of the extent of this wonderful, ancient monument.

    Hello Henry,

1.Using PSE10, I selected the sea and the sky.
2.Then I chose the 'enhance' key and 'adjust colour'. This gives you the option to lighten or darken the selected area. I darkened it.

This took away the overexposure on the surf.

I hope you find this useful and beneficial.

    Kind regards,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Swapan,

Using PSE10, I cropped your photograph so that the heron was situated more on the thirds line, rather than being central. I then reinstated your borders.
I hope you like the changes.

    Kind regards,
    Bev :-)

This was a shot that I took after the rain in Amsterdam. It was taken just a few days before Christmas on a fleeting visit!

    Best wishes,

    Hi Jason,

I hadn't saved the work on your photo but I just repeated the process: auto smart fix.
It looks pretty similar to last time.
The change is subtle but worthwhile, don't you think?

    Best wishes,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Nicole,

Using PSE10 I cropped a little off the lower edges to remove the fingers. I then cloned out the distracting part reflection.

    I hope you approve.

    Kind regards,
    Bev :-)

Here, you can see the seal completely raised and the boat is able to sail out into the open river.

I was amazed at how little water escaped from the lift when it was in operation; just a few little drips. This compared massively with the large spurts of water that escape through the canal locks when they are being used.
