The honey colored straw, hay-bales and stubble contrast superbly against the blue sky. Fantastic density levels that have given perfect exposure levels with clean blacks and whites as well as good saturation. Excellent depth and repetition of the bales. Bella weekend!

The diagonal path alongside the old stone church adds lice lead in lines and perspective as well as dynamism on account of its tilted axis. Nice pastel colours with superb warm cold color contrasts between the red and blue. Bon weekend!

The red roofs at left and orange embankment at right contrast well against the blue sky and its reflection in the mirror like surface of the canal, broken only by the moving boat. Good sharpness and saturation. I like the repetition of the cloud patterns in the sky. Tfs!

A superb warm vs cold color contrast between the blue sky and the reddish brown terrain in the fg. Good sharpness and the triple domed church in the bg makes a good focal point and centre of interest. Good result from a moving vehicle! Tfs!

Nice color contrasts between the green leaves and blue magenta flowers. I like the repetition of the flowers and the shallow dof yet still with good sharpness on the flowers. Effective tight framing and well composed. Have a great weekend!

At first I thought it was a statue purposely built for some ancient rescue perhaps? Then I noticed it was a real dog! Love the turquoise cyan colour of the Mediterranean Sea here. Good sharpness & saturation. The little wave in the fg adds depth. Tfs!

The multiple pyramids of straw at right steal the show here and I might have been tempted to zoom in a little or crop. But this is fine a is. The curved green grass path with tyre tracks adds nice lead in lines and deep perspective. Good sharpness and color saturation. Tfs!

A nice symmetrical composition and a fine aerial view of Paris with the curved Palais de Chaillot making a splendid bg focal point. I have a similar shot in my gallery. Nice contrast between the greenery of the parks and the densely clustered urban buildings. Tfs!

At first glance it looks a little apocalyptic, like the smouldering towers of the WTC on 9/11. A superb upward pov with good sharpness and the clock makes a fine focal point. Dramatic light & tonal contrasts. Perspective has been well managed. Tfs!

A nice 'big sky' shot with the jet trail in this superb minimalist shot. Good sharpness and I like the shaft of sunlight illuminating the uppermost peaks at right. Excellent shadow detail and composition. Good graphism and light contrasts. Tfs!

Nice repetition of the fg candles and a good result for such low light levels indoors. The hand gesture adds interest. There are several but I would have to look them up for meaning. Now I am curious if Judaism ever had an anti-icon period, like Christians (several times) and Muslims, (pretty much all of the time: no icons in mosques, & only Muslim saint's graves are allowed pilgrimage visits, and even then, there are some extreme Muslims who object to this practice as evidenced by the destruction of Jonah's tomb in Iraq just recently). An informative note too. A thought provoking post and tfs!

I like the horizontal layering into 4 parts with the fg half circle tile patterns, then the green grass, the mineral baths building and finally the blue sky. Punchy light contrasts with good density levels that have given clean whites and blacks and good saturation. Tfs!

The path adds good lead in lines and provides depth and diminishing linear perspective, with the chateau nicely positioned over the vanishing point. I like the diffused lighting and muted colours. The people add scale and animate the scene. Tfs!
ChrisJ (94426) 2014-07-30 3:08
Excellent use of diminishing linear perspective and vanishing point with good sharpness and nice warm versus cold color contrasts between the blue sky and yellow / orange facades of the buildings. Excellent shadow detail & a nice reflection at right. Tfs!

Nice use of a shallow dof with perfect fg sharpness on both the man and the bird of prey. I remember seeing a similar show in Brisbane that came to my primary school in the 1960's but I don't know if it's possible to see that nowadays? Effective tight framing with vibrant warm colors. Tfs!

Good motion blur of both the water and the energetic fg children. Marvellous warm cold color contrasts between the pink, yellow and blue with effective tight framing and superb sharpness on immobile objects. Have a great day!

Yes it is raining again here in Munich and also yesterday afternoon in Attersee, Austria. I wasn't aware that southern and western Germany were part of the Roman empire, and some of the roads follow the original Roman tracks across the Alps, and a lot of people in southern Germany have Roman ancestors mixed with Celtic and other tribes who lived in the area. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borders_of_the_Roman_Empire#mediaviewer/File:Mapa_del_Conf%C3%ADn_del_Imperio_Romano.gif
Oh the photo: Wonderful blue colour of the door and gateway with excellent sharpness and a nice see through effect into the bg courtyard. Well framed and composed with good breathing space right around and perspective has been well managed. Nice textural details in the walls. Tfs!

That was very hospitable of you to take Matt around. Is that a wet suited arm protruding from the wave? Love the sharpness capturing every water droplet in a frozen moment in time. Well composed with a superb tonal range. Tfs!
ChrisJ (94426) 2014-07-30 1:54
A good upward pov with excellent sharpness and control over perspective. Also a good contrast in architectural styles of ancient at left and comparatively modern at right. Good repetition of the columns and windows. The blue sky makes a fine backdrop. Tfs!

I haven't yet been to Wien, but it's on my to do list. Good sharpness, colour and saturation. Effective tight framing and nice to see the tulips are4 not only in Turkey and Holland. I have seen similar displays at Taksim square but not sure if the sellers mind photographs without buying? Tfs!
