Photographer's Note

An interior view of the Cathedral of Saint-Pierre in Montpellier.

The building that can be seen today is largely the result of rebuilding work that took place in the 18th century to replace the cathedral that was largely destroyed during the Wars of Religion in the 16th century. This work has been supplemented by enlargements carried out in the following century when the bell tower was also reconstructed.

Some dimensions

* inside length: 95.00 meters
* height of the nave: 28.50 metres
* height of the transept and the choir: 27.50 metres
*width of the nave: 26.70 metres

The building was classified as a Historical Monument in 1906.
