Photographer’s Note
I am choosing to post an atypical view of the Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore. The reason that I am doing this is because:
a) aren't we just a little tired of the same old image of the dome (no matter how grandiose it may be)?
-although, to be quite honest, I wouldn't put it past myself to post one such type of photo in the near future (please don't hold it against me)
AND
b) I like the juxtaposition between the popular (and by this I mean tourist-flocking) image of Florence (i.e. the basilica), against the not-so-popular, yet characteristic of the region, architecture on the left

ciao Ashley,
composizione gradevole e ben contrastata.
Mi piace l'idea di accomunare alla chiesa anche i palazzi vicino con una inquadratura dalle linee diagonali.
Bello il cielo.
buona giornata

Hello Ashley,
Excelent composition from a great pov/angle. Perfect sharpness, detail, colours.
I totally agree with your opinion; in my vision most visitors to a town only look only at the shoppingwindowlevel, while a town's beauty often can be seen above this level!!

Hello Ashley
Like your nonconventional POV...the intricate work of the facade of the basilica contrasts well with the relatively plain facade of the houses beyond. Just cannot help but wonder, how much of a novelty factor does the basilica hold for the people who stay in these houses? Fine shot

Hi Ashley
Very nice image with sharp details in front building. Absolute right white balance. I think that you can easy remove (cloning) the tv antennas at the top of middle building.

hmm, as far as tourism is concerned I think I might have been there but to be honest I don't remember as the tour trip was so fast that we visited to many places in one day...
BUT! I like Your photo for the unusual perspective :)
TFS!
