Partial Forest Reserve of Pico da Vara


Here is located the island's highest point, about 1100 meters of altitude. Its focus is the mountains, cut by streams that slide through the vegetation. With a length of approximately 1982 hectares, incorporates a large amount of vegetation endemic, as well as a range of rare flora and great value. The Priolo, bird endemic to the island, finds its habitat. Spectacular natural viewpoint, you can cover an impressive overview of much of the island, with emphasis on the Plateau of gramma, Pico Verde and saw the Tronqueira, south and the slopes of the boiler of Furnas and the mountains of the Water and Pau Inquest, to the west.
