Photographer’s Note
The Emperors New Clothes was made by Keld Moseholm. On a small platform you see the emperor with his crown and sceptre. The tailor holds the mirror for him, and next to them is a representative from the court with folded hands.
The Emperor's New Clothes (Keiserens nye Klæder) is a fairy tale by Danish poet and author Hans Christian Andersen about an emperor who unwittingly hires two swindlers to create a new suit of clothes for him. The tale was first published in 1837 as part of Eventyr, fortalte for Børn (Fairy Tales, Told for Children).
An emperor of a prosperous city who cares more about clothes than military pursuits or entertainment hires two swindlers who promise him the finest suit of clothes from the most beautiful cloth. This cloth, they tell him, is invisible to anyone who was either stupid or unfit for his position. The Emperor cannot see the (non-existent) cloth, but pretends that he can for fear of appearing stupid; his ministers do the same. When the swindlers report that the suit is finished, they dress him in mime. The Emperor then goes on a procession through the capital showing off his new "clothes". During the course of the procession, a small child cries out, "But he has nothing on!" The crowd realizes the child is telling the truth. The Emperor, however, holds his head high and continues the procession.

Excellent photo and description.
In portuguese we use very much the phrase "O Rei vai nu", which translates literally into "The King goes naked", and this phrae has its origin exactly in this in this tale.
Thanks for sharing.

Dag Rob,

Fascinating shot, with the woman giving a sense of scale to the whole artwork. Interesting, not just the lack of clothes, but the lack of brains as well (or head for that matter!)

Hello Rob,
I love this imaginative, simple and elegant composition, integrating the visitor to the museum into the work of art. I may create an open theme of such images, possibly "Pictures at an Exhibition," but we would have to change the name to accommodate statues. A few images I have on my mind (along with this one and your earlier post "Museum Observations") are: The Copyiest, Madonna and Children, "Admiring the Feast", "Dali and the Doll" and "The Young Connoisseur".
Warm regards, Rob.

Hi Rob,
You have not been around for a while. I love this funny scene. The vistor to the left almost looks like she is part of the artwork. Very well spotted. Wonderful composition and postediting job. I really enjoy that the woman is standing on the frame. TFS and have a nice evening!
Cheers,
Ulf
P.S. Nice to see that you have a TE account I laughed when saw an advertisement for Finnish design classics. Could have something to do with your user name?

Hi Rob,
charming note to accompany an even more charming capture of this awesome monument. The next time you are visiting Fyn you should try to meet Keld Moseholm at his workshop near Faaborg, he is a splendid fellow!
I like your management of the light and how the lady is stepping into the frame. My compliments!
Warm regards
Harriet

Bonjour, mon ami Rob,

Dag Rob,
Goed foto werk Rob. Bedankt.
Prettige dag verder,
John.

Hi Rob,
Groeten,
Lars

I wonder if anyone told him he had no head! ;D I like the way you have composed it with the woman in the foreground viewing the artwork.
Welcome back Rob. You have been away too long.

Bonjour Rob,
