Photographer’s Note

Difficulties with colours here (and could not manage a decent B&W for this one), still not satisfied with this version but the moment was otherwise beautiful.

There was a ray of light near this abandoned house and the boy with his balloon was playing with both - here he seems innocent and even angelic but on this photo taken a few seconds earlier, he looks more wild and untamed - he was, but in a friendly way.

le moment bien capte et le reste est le resultat de ta sensibilite pour le choix. Encore un succes: tu nous montres la vie dans une ambience telle qu'elle est, l'ambience qui attire les artistes et les gens de bonne volonte. J'en suis sensible.

Excellent moment décisif, j'aime beaucoup la scène ainsi que l'ambiance de l'environnement un peu délabré et écaillé. Une belle photo.

je prefere celle que tu as présentée car il y a plus d'action et le timing est bien meilleur, le rayon de soleil symbolisant une lueur d'espoir pour cet enfant qui vit dans un quartier un peu délabré.

A picture with a story and a touch of magic. I love the spots of red on the wall. Actually, I don't see any major technical problems here, but even so, it's one of those pictures where technical perfection means very little. And to me, the red parts are so important that b&w just wouldn't do.

You are one of this incredibly talented persons who skillfully produce good photographs out of basically nothing !

Some guys around ( including me) call such persons 'The photographers' and it has very little ( if anything ?) with carrying around that funny box calling camera.
I tend to think that snapping your fingers alone would produce similar, bordering with wizardry results, Cathy !

Oh là là! J'ai du mal à choisir nan! Au fait je crois que je les trouve toutes deux excellentes. Avec la variation d'atmosphère due aux expressions. Celle-ci a un côté poétique que j'adore...super cadrage et moment saisi, de la grâce, et des beaux contrastes de tonalités. L'autre montre bien le côté malicieux. Sur toutes les deux ce rayon de lumière et le ballon sont un détail magnifique, bravo!

belle photo de ce gamin qui joue au ballon de baudruche seul.
ce personnage se détache sur ce fond délabrés qui abîme par le nombre des années et sans doute le manque de moyens pour entretenir ou rénover.
Bel effet de ce rai de lumière qui descend vers le doit du gamin.
Bien vu, bien saisi l' instant.

les deux versions bien différentes sont également intéressantes et révélatrices d'images fortes de l'enfance : le jeu comme émerveillement et comme défit.
comme tu le fais parfois, pourquoi ne pas les avoir proposées côte à côte. il me semble qu'elles auraient bien dialogué.

je voulais te remercier pour la simplicité, la justesse, la facilité (du moins apparente), l'absence de voyeurisme et de misérabilisme avec lesquelles tu photographies les personnes.

A lot of attention for this one, and deservedly so - it's quite exceptional.
I like this a lot. One of those special photos that couldn't be improved in any way (except for that weird red lens flare in the bottom corner).

Finalement ces discussions animées du forum ont du bon. Elles m'ont permis de voir certaines photos qui m'avaient échappé. J'avoue être totalement fasciné par celle-ci à la composition fantastique : le doigt de l'enfant, son regard, le ballon dans le trait de lumière, tout ça devant cet arrière plan extraordinaire. Du très grand art!

The worn stones and the red on the wall make a perfect setting for this shot, Cath! He may be a bit "angelic" but his body language is aggressive and strong, not that of an angel. Boys will be boys, right? An interesting ray of light--from a hole in the roof, perhaps?
