Photographer’s Note
Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse stands on the most South
Westerly tip of Australia where the Indian and Southern Oceans meet.
At 39metres it is mainland Australia's tallest lighthouse. It was opened in 1895 and manually operated until 1982 by a clockwork mechanism and a kerosine burner - one of the last in the world.

Hello Marlene! Now this says something to me :))) It is a while ago but I visited Augusta and I found it a great place to discover. I like your idea with the long view over the "worn-out" rock formation. Wind and weather have given it a great shape. Well chosen that you left the light house in the back, it gives us an idea how lonely it stands there in the middle of not much but pure beauty of this remote area. Very nice, I like it a lot. Best regards, Barbara.

Hello Marlene,
welcome back after a long break!:)
Very beautiful landscape with a lonely distant lighthouse. Very good composition.
I am impressed by the rocks in the FG: I have an impression that they are sort of moving (as if I am looking at the rocks while riding a bike, and the rocks run and run... this strange effect, along with the clouds and sea waves, makes the photo very dynamic.
Fresh sea air - I miss it in grey chilly November.
best regards,
Elena

Hi Marlene ,Am glad you have taken the d80 for an outing to such a photogenic spot , between your eye and the stunning weather you have created a delightful scene,i particularly like the way the pools of water on the pink rocks have reflected the blue sky,you can see why people want to emigrate to Aus ,from a very grey wet london. Thanks Tom.

Hello Marlene:
That nice image of Augusta's coast and since I would like to know Australia .... so distant and so close to Europe.
Congratulations for the capture.
A hug.

G'day Marlene
I was in in Byron Bay a few month ago. Byron Bay is a town in the state of New South Wales on the easternmost point of mainland Australia.
I know, that Cape Leeuwin is the most South
Westerly tip of Australia, but I did't know that Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse is the place where the Indian and Southers Oceans meet.
I think, that I must be there soon :-)
Greetings

Hello Marlene,
Good morning from Auckland!
Captured well on this beautiful coastal scenery with the great depth!
the fg rocks formation is just great with nice patterns and the far away distance of sea and the awesome sky!
the clouds formation brings the main attraction towards this stunning composition!
well done
greeting from across the Tasman!
