Photographer’s Note

A large park is the Karlsaue along the Fulda River. Established in the 16th century, it is famous for the Orangerie, a palace built in 1710 as a summer residence for the landgraves. Today there is also a planetarium in the park.

Hello Wolfgang,
I particularly like the light in this composition and the presence of the swans ducks swimming towards the photographer. A good point of view with the orangery placed just off centre and making good use of the curving shoreline on the left. An image very evocative of a cold winter's day in the park.

Very lovely shot, Wolfgang.
The wintry colour tones are nicely presented. The snow and the swans look great, providing the balance to the grey-blue colouring. Sharp and clear trees and pleasing composition. You timed it so well to capture the swans in a wonderful position. Nice work.

That little orangerie is really pulling you there like a magnet! :-) I remember the photos over the past years that you have placed on this little house on the hill. You could make a specific theme on it by now!

The swans coming your way - hoping you have bread in your bag next to the camera - really add something to the shot. Nice.

The simple title couldn't be more appropriate, as it is what comes to my mind when I look at this beautiful and enchanting image. The compo is very finely done, plenty of harmony and with a very nice sense of perspective. The swans and the brighter light on the little cabin on the BG make it very special.

Schöner geht's nicht. Ein wundervoller Blick über diesen See - und die Wasservögel sind das Tüpfelchen auf dem "i". Dieses "Spotlight" auf dem Tempelchen ist einfach toll. Für mich eines Deiner besten Bilder.

A really nice composition, particularly with the swans placed where they are. (And aren't they too cold?) Nice bits of color here and there to break up overall sense of white and gray. There does look to be a bit of tilt in the rear shoreline.

Superb winter mood composition with a touch of melancholy. And with a bit of dynamism thanks to the moving swan. I don't know, but it brings me to a HC Andersen story.

traumhafte Winteridylle mit Blick über den See.
Auch wenn die Kälte ganz und gar nicht mein Ding ist, so muss ich doch immer wieder zugeben, dass zumindest optisch jede Jahreszeit seinen Reiz hat. Und dies beweist du mit diesem herrlichen Bild ausdrücklich. Tolles Licht und tolle Farben. Die heranschwimmenden Wasservögel vervollständigen diese perfekte Komposition. Glückwunsch.
