GuruDongmar Lake,Sikkim: Located at 17,800ft above sea level,'GuruDongmar' is the one of the largest lake of Sikkim.This lake is the source of River Teesta(which flows across Sikkim).Considered as one of the most sacred lake of Sikkim.It is believed that Guru Padmasambhava touched and blessed the lake during his visit.Due to super high altitude,human presence is not available except Indian Army patrol.The lake remains completely frozen in the winter months from November to Mid-May.It is believed that Guru Nanak has visited this place during his North-East visit.Indian Army has built a Gurudwara near the lake.

Nara, excellent photo. great composition and clarity! The clouds coming over the mountaintops are amazing! The flags on the ropes add a little bright colors to the image.

The lights on splendidly colored, matted lake surface makes your photo an eye catching one with harshly illuminated clouds. Prayers flags, ending with snowy mountains are wonderful. Excellent clarity and sharpness in natural colors. Congratulations.

ps: teesta starts from cholamu lake beyond gurudongmar at 18200ft. a stream from gurudongmar joins it.
