Photographer’s Note

This is the National Theatre in Prague. The style is neo-renaissance and the building was constructed between 1868 and 1881. The National Theatre is one of the most important cultural institutions in Prague and the whole Czech Republic with a rich artistic tradition. The programme consists of opera, ballet and drama.

The picture was taken from the Kampa Island not very far from the Charles Bridge.

A very sharp and well detailed picture. The green and specially the golden tones of the theatre stand out beautiful in the black night.

An another superb night view of a famous edifice of Praha. Here too a very good use of light, nice gilded color and incredible reflections in the Vlatva. A very good and nice photowork.

Hello Ulf,
it is more elegant than in life! (Definitely much better than at daylight.) Lights, colours, reflections, composition - everything is very good, I am satisfied with everything, like our common (Austrian-Hungarian-Czech) ancient Imperor once said. But really, one can feel the magnificient character of this building better from this picture than while walking there in the daily crowd.

Excellent POV so you could take advantage of the reflections in the river. Very well exposed night shot and timed just before the end of the blue hour. If I remember correctly it's almost impossible to get a daylight shot here because of cables and tram lines.

You're really getting a good series of night shots! This one is perfect, not just because of the building, but also because of the good exposure. The colours, the details and the reflection are perfect!
