Sunset at Pontet Lake Photo

Photographer’s Note

After a wonderfull day spent around the giants of Ecrins National Park, we were luckyly to have some time at sunset, near Pontet Lake... We usualy can see the Meije summit reflecting in this beautifull lake but this day, the summit remains in the clouds for the end of the day...
The sky was pretty coloured and I took this shot as the sun was disapearing behind the hills...

Equipment : Canon EOS 5D, EF 17-40f4, Tripod, ND8 grad filter

J'aime bien le liseré sur la montagne à droite et le soleil en étoile. La photo semble preqque symétrique en vertical.

Hello,
Simply amazing landscape. Beautiful colours, lights and sharpness. These clouds reflecting in water, so equal rays of sun and rushes in the right part of the photo makes the whole composition really fantastic. The image has a calming impact.

Hi Xavier,

Nicely simplified image in both color and subject choice. The sunstar is a nicely executed bonus and I like that the foreground only has a few small rocks and a few more just visible under the water. I think this would make a classy print.

Une très belle vue sur cette magnifique surface ondulante. Le soleil va se cacher derrière les montagnes et illumine encore les nuages. Un superbe moment.

Techniquement irreprochable comme d'habitude.Tu etais a ouverture f4, comment est ce que tu peux tout de meme étoiler le soleil ? En general c est a diaphragme fermé, j 'aurais pense que cela était fait a f plus grand que 10 et sur pied pour avoir assez de photons tout de meme. Ca m echappe... Geraldine

Bonsoir Xavier,
Très beau coucher de soleil, avec un cadrage plutôt original qui laisse la plus grande part au lac. J'aime beaucoup les nuages colorés par le soleil couchant. Excellente netteté également, comme d'habitude !

Bonjour Xavier,
un superbe vue avec ce soleil "étoilé" qui se couche ! Les détails du premier plan nous font découvrir le reste du lac !!
