Photographer's Note
This was my teacher and co-worker at Rizong Monastery, Ladakh, India - Venerable Thupstan Chhostak. An incredible man, so full of life.
Rizong Monastery is renowned for its discipline and strict adherence to the Buddha's original words, an example being only being allowed to wear the monastic sleeveless top at all times including winter. This was taken in his room in the cold winter months, he's shrouded by his traditional drape.

Unfortunately a bit out of focus, and in b&w we lose the color touch that would make it really interesting... no personal offense manoj;-) I can understand the emotional involvement in this shot though;-) The man I met who introduced himself as the school director was named Geshe Lobsang Chodak.. Do you know him?? i will attach a pic of him as a ws for you to tell me if you recognise him.. also i will attach the pic of a student called thupsten Lhundap. Maybe you'll recognize him as well?
