These are the vineyards of Alf, a small town on the left bank of Mosel river. You can see the river right hand in the background.
The wonderful play of colours on this slope caught my eyes. Obviously the different grape varieties have different autumn colours.
My photo was taken from the donjon of Castle Arras, situated in a left (northern) side valley of Mosel river.
Alf has about 900 inhabitants and it first was mentioned as the Roman settlement "Albis" about 50 B.C.
Something to smile about:
Perhaps you know the American NBC television sitcom "ALF" with this friendly extraterrestrial creature. Because of the same name the town signs several times have been pilfered by night in the late eighties. In order to control this robbery the town offered similar signs for sale which were stamped on the back and signed by the mayor. It is said - a good bargain at that time ...
In the map view left hand I put the marker on the donjon of Castle Arras. Alf there is situated immediately east (right) of it.

très joli point de vue sur ce paysage et sur ces vignes. J'aime la profondeur de la photo et l'impression de me trouver devant une maquette. Beau travail.

This area of Germany is beautiful. I visited this region in the summertime, so I was not privileged enough to see these wonderful autumn colors. Interesting POV...the rolling hills are great and the village below is very picturesque. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Frank. quite a spectacular landscape. Like a giant patchwork blanket covering the land. The POV is special and most unusual where the town and the river provides a wonderful contrast to the left of the image with all those white geometric shapes. Excellent DOF and light. Greetings from a warm Melbourne. Klaudio.

Greetings! Funny story about Alf. Very interesting place, all these growings on the very steepy slopes.
Greetings, we have - 3 C and snow lies under the grey skies.

Splendid board of fields in November- colours. Beautifully tooks here this scenery. Still without snow and other racily winter- attributes. Magnificently look small houses as the herd of beetles. I think, that one can that to cut off the part of light-struck sky. I checked and I attend, that the picture looks then more profitably. You accumulated here complete the palette of autumnal colours Frank. Nice light and beautiful depth of sharpness. Splendid composition.
Best regards from snow-covered Poznan,

Guten Mittag Frank,
A splendid two parts picture, to the left the diagonal line of the mountain with the vineyards and small paths.
To the right a nice village depth in the valley.
Very well landscape picture, lovely area, Frank. TFS.

That is really terrific- even vineyards echo the variety of fall colors. I love the colors and perspective of the photo. Top notch! I'm going to put it in my favorites.
PS. Tomorrow is your last day at work? Bravo!

A beautiful scenery! A good POV and composition with several levels. The colourful patches of the vineyards and the crossing roads created a nice graphical effect. The towns on both sides of the river look picturesque from this high view. Excellent depth as well. Good work!
