Photographer’s Note
An Arbore woman chewing on a piece of sugar-cane.
In the South of Ethiopia near the Omo River some 50 km south of Weita lives the Arbore Tribe.
In common with their linguistically and culturally affiliated Tsemai neighbours, the Arbore migrated to their present homeland from Konso perhaps two centuries ago.
The Arbore traditionally played an important role as middlemen in trade between the Omo River and the Konso Highlands.
