Photographer’s Note
Old Ottoman house in the town of Sivrihisar (Eskisehir province) in Central Turkey. The bad condition is unfortunately too typical for old buildings in Turkey. In particular houses are in a bad state, because house owners have no interest or no money for repairments, or find the rules for restauration of monuments too complicated.
Sivrihisar is rarely visited by tourists, although it is an interesting and charming small town, full of old buildings, and is on the main road from Eskisehir to Ankara.
Sivrihisar is - by the way - the birth place of Nasrettin Hoca, the famous story teller.

Bonsoir,
Merci, car cette photo, de cette vieille maison ottomane, méritait effectivement un post.

Hi Jelle,
Amazing capture from my homeland with many hidden datails ! Very good pov and perfect compo.
Each window has another character. And the dog is watching you.
But most interesting part is the posterlike spot at above left corner; it looks like to be Churchills face ??? A single capture, many questionmarks.
TFS and have a nice weekend
Best regards

Dag Jelle,
Ik zie nu dat ik vergeten ben een smiley toe te voegen aan je foto "village alley" maar met evenveel plezier doe ik dit voor deze mooie en interessante foto van een oud Ottomaans huis met de hond die voor een levendiger noot zorgt.
Groetjes,
Paul

I agree with the title and the conveyed message that house means more than walls and the roof but privacy, security and may be more important warmth of a family. technically, adjusting the light would have worked better but it's fine as it is Jelle. cheers,
kurtul
p.s. how come almost all your shots from turkey but you don't communicate in turkish?
