Photographer’s Note
I'm here to say I'm alive...shot taken on BR-116 between Curitba and São Paulo.
BR-116 runs in a north-south way, near, but not in Brazil's coastline. It is the major Brazilian highway, and it is the second longest of the country. Numerous parts of the long path taken by the BR-116 have other official names.
The Curitiba-São Paulo section of the highway is known as Rodovia Régis Bittencourt, nicknamed "Rodovia da Morte" (Highway of death), due to its many accidents caused by the unstable weather conditions of the region. The São Paulo-Rio de Janeiro section is named Rodovia Presidente Dutra, and it is the busiest section of the highway, running into or near of 15 cities with more than 200.000 habitants.
In my way back from São Paulo I saw four accidents...privatization is to come with three toll-road fee between Curitiba and São Paulo.
...backing to work now!

Hello Carlos,
What a nice photo from a highway! In Hungary the highways run mostly on plains so they're very dull for most of the time..
I love this one leading the eye to the mountains in the bg. The colours are fanastic and the note informs us about everything we need to know about this highway.
TFS!
Best wishes,
Marci

Bom-dia Carlos,

Hello Carlos
Finally, another picture from you. Now I know you are still alive.
Impressive colours and landscape. Exposure is perfect. Details are so fine like usual and I like the point of view because the road drives my glancefar away. The blurred car is a good element too.
Best regards

Hello Carlos! I don't know if I should smile, maybe it is not appropriate, but my friend just returned from Sao Paulo and I mean he loved it in so many ways but he still speaks about the traffic :))) He is a college teacher and had an exchange thing with Senai. Wonderful vegetation, so rich I can hardly believe it as it snows where I live right now :) Great the move in the car, you think he is the only one speeding on the highway busy to go from a to b!!!! Take care, best regards, Barbara.

Hi Carlos,
When you live in a landscape like this, even a photo of a highway can become a great photo! The lighting conditions are great, and perfect colours. Fine simple composition and pin sharp. Technically faultless, and the slow shutter effect on the moving car is a nice added effect.
Fine shot! Regards

Oi Carlos

Hello Carlos,
Good to see you back. I like the vantage point you've chosen, with the divided highway curving and converging into the distance. The spectacular mountains in the distance create a dramatic focal point, but of course the speeding car seen as a blur becomes the main focal point. I want very much to see Sao Paulo one day, but why so many accidents — too many blurs on the road?
Warm regards,
Bulent

i see that driver of this SUV is at high speed....no highway patrol around? and four accidents on your way back?
what a perfect day, blue skies with scattered snowy clouds above and to the right that murky-brown water made the special effect..and, yeah spick and span highway you got there. was this shot taken from your car, or...? clear, sharp and well detailed as always.
and work, oh yeah the sad reality for us all. i am heading to mine in 30 minutes. more fotos of SP, dude.

hi Carlos,
I've read about this "Higway of Death", and glad to hear you survived it :) I quite like the panoramic format you have used here, it certainly emphasises the feeling of distance, and the blurred car adds a sense of motion. the curve of the road works well to lead the eye through the scene, nice one :)

Oi, Carlos,
Linda mostra. Abraço, Consuelo

Hi Carlos,
The road seem to be good... maybe the drivers go too fast, so many accidents happen (specially if drunk!)
The polarizer gave good contrast level and fine colors in a perfect exposure, the motion blurred car adds interest and impression of speed!

hi Carlos
It is good to see you back on TE again.
This highway looks like a road in Borneo's Sarawak from Kuching to Sibu with the dense tropical forest, the mountains and the sky. And it is because Brazil is so big country but part of it is also lying along the equatorial zone like Sarawak.
I must say the blue sky and the scattered clouds make this a wonderful view.

Hi Carlos,
Great sharp and well composed picture. Well awaited moment for the car to be placed in exact position. Thou I think that just a bit of a blur would give enough motion for this static composition. I would go for 1/80 maybe even 1/125, the car is speeding anyway so the motion would be preserved. 1/400 would nicely freeze it...
Good one, keep up.
Kind regards,
Michal

Hello Carlos,
Driving is on the left side of the highway in Brazil while in the U.S. it is on the right. I did not know that. You made good use of the blur. I like your perspective and the wonderful mountains and sky in the background. Brazil is a beautiful country.

Grande foto.
