Photographer’s Note
The most important Sikhs marched in a parade with their holy book in a palanquin, to celebrate their festival. The parade had stick fighters, bag pipers, women sweeping the road for the holy men, martial arts, and more. A huge tent held the marchers, cooks with good food for all, and hundreds of Sikhs who came to pray. Holy songs filled the air from a stage with singers and musicians. People paid homage to the holy book by lying face down in front of it. I had to cover my head, and remove my shoes. I was completly welcomed!
