Photographer’s Note

Sometimes not having a tripod will be a good reason to start improvising! I placed the camera on the top of the car, turned the headlights on and here it is! The previous time it was not clean at all ...

στην αρχη νομισα οτι η αντανακλαση στο κατω μερος ηταν καποιο τρυκ απο αυτα που συνηθιζεις στις φωτογραφικες σου ανησυχιες...χεχεχε
το αυτοκινητο εκανε καλη δουλεια ομως...σουπερ γυαλιστερο...
καλη ιδεα!

Well, Argiris,
you got a splendid result! The anglosaxons say: two birds with one shot, you had a stable base for your camera and got a fine reflection too. I like a lot this composition, as you probably know, I'm fond of boats and marinas. Here the night scene is wonderful with those star-like lights of the lamps. Also the exposition is perfect, every detail is so clear.

I hardly belief my eyes here! f/2.8 and you get this starry effect, but I suppose you might have used filter?

Very good night exposure of 3s to get this clarity and what a reflected view on the water!

Great work. And I like the marina view at this hour. Maybe spent the night sleeping on the boat?

Lovely night marina shot that really glows because of its reflections.
Excellently composed with just right division between the reality and mirrored image. Hopefully a great w-end to make some more creative shots like this one :)

You know what they say; our ancestors use to light a fire by stones :)) It is a very good thing to be practical in every case. If you don't have a tripod, who cares, there lots of other things to be kind of "pod" and even your new practical "pod" may have lights for the sake of your photography :)))
All my compliments for your practical solution and the attractive result. The reflection at the lower part adds quite to the image, it breaks the monotony of "a night shot in harbour" concept.

ωραία νυκτερινή σκηνή με ζωηρά και ζωντανά χρώματα και φως,αν λάβει κανείς υπ΄ όψη ότι δεν χρησιμοποίησες τρίποδο.Σε αυτές τις περιπτώσεις ο ουρανός του αυτοκινήτου ή η ώμος κάποιου είναι ότι πρέπει για ακουμπιστήρι.Θα σου συνιστούσα να πάρεις ένα μονόποδο το οποίο ανοίγει και χρησιμοποιείται αν λάχει και για μπατόν.Εμένα με συνοδεύει πάντα στις εξόδους μου και ευρίσκεται πλεον μόνιμα μέσα στο αυτοκίνητο.

Hahaha! I did that too one day see here. I did not have tripod at all at the time. Let me tell you, cars, especially black cars can make excellent tripods! Not only can they play the basic function of a tripod, but they also help to create fantastic effects--reflections or a mirror effect. I was confused myself before reading your note!

It's a great image u got there, your improvisation worked really well, the lights are good and the subject is one i'll love for life, water and its surroundings, wd!
