Photographer’s Note

The shot was made in the city park the Roses Valley. It is full of very timid and cautious squirrels. Howewer, they know that people often bring them nuts, and therefore stare at each passing person - suppose something was brought for them this time?

I like the expression of astonishment of this squirrels whole posture. A good DOF brings the animal out well in the foreground and there is excellent detail.

Red squirrels here are rare and fairly endangered, though there are more up north in the highland areas.

What a wonderful picture of this lively and curious squirrel. The details are fantastic,and she/he? does seem to be staring right at the camera. Good composition!
