Photographer’s Note
Hello,
this is another view of Vacha Dam, in Rodopes mountain. What we see on the piture is one of the pontoon houses, typical for this place, as this one is actually fish-nursery too. The houses even have a real trees, planted in huge pots, fixed to the floating platform.
In contrast to my previous picture, taken in the widest part of the dam, I took this one in the northern part and here the green colour of the water is missing. Vacha dam (also Vucha dam) is the longest in Bulgaria (30km) and also the deepest.
* Fot the picture - I've waited for the first light in the morning, to obtain this reflection, because in the mornings usualy there isn't wind and the water is calm. The firsl direct light here, on the dam, came in 9 a.m. (!) during the summer, because the dam is surrounded by mountains.

I can't believe there is such a neighborhood! Do people live there normally?
Very nice picture, nice reflections!

Hi,
Today it snowed in Stockholm and now when I look at this photo, I feel nostalgia. I would like to be able to travel in time and space in order to get there at the time you were there. The house is really lovely. I wouldn't mind spending some time under the trees on the shore, eating tomatoes, cheese, olives and bread as I used to do when I was a kid.
Thanks for sharing this photo! The Rhodope Mountains and the dams there are a weakness of mine.
Best regards,
Atanas

One of the most unusual pictures I have seen on TE.
The water is so calm that it's hard to believe the house is floating.
Одна из самых необычных фотографий, что я видел на TE.
Вода так спокойна, что трудно поверить, что дом плавает.
