Photographer’s Note
It is strange that I have used 3 different cameras at the same place and every camera gives me a different colour of the same wave? I used paint shop pro 8 auto fix and I had to use neat image outherwise it was to grainy.

a very good capture, just wonder what shuttertime you used to freeze the waves while at the same time bluring the movement of the foam

Wow....very very good. I like how you manage to freeze the wave. You don't see shots that good in surfing movies.

Wow! A very dramatic picture. I can almost feel the weight of the water about to crash down. This was captured at exactly the right moment. Great colours too.

Stunning shot. The colour is amazing. I love the light on the rocks, the composition and the clarity of the water just as the wave turns. Fantastic job!

That's pretty impressive Richard - very beautiful, but to my eyes also a little scary - I'd want to be a long way away! Maybe you are!
Great shot.

three different cameras? Were they film cameras? each day the color temperature outside is different so you will get different results. Also film is very different even if you use the same type of film. Most pro photographers test several rolls or sheets of film. If they like it they buy more from the same bash "emulsion number". Film that was cut from the same large roll of film.
Oh!!! by the way... great shot

Hi Richard, I love your wave photos. The raw power shows through well here. Imagine you have had some frights in this sort of position? Murray.

This is hot!
If you surf you know how powerfull this kind of waves are.. and in this photo you can feel it... Powerfull shorebreak.
Regarding the different colors you're getting. it's all about the water reflection sending billions of photons, on different CCDs.Even by slightly tilting your camera it will change..
Great shot the way the light hit the ave , and those random spots of sharpness..... love it!!
ps: in your workshop version .. watchout.. it's getting a bit over done , you might need to desaturate the colors a bit..it's getting spotty as well. The idea though is good;)
