Photographer's Note

I know that the transition from the previous summer photo to this Christmas winter photo may seem a bit strange :)
But I thought to post it now... just like that!

This is part of the Christmas decorations in the windows of NK department store (Nordiska Kompaniet), a luxury department store in Stockholm.

This is the Xmas window which, most probably, will never be shown again (unless the NK authorities decide to repeat the Christmas decorations in a while). Every winter, every Christmas, the decorations are different.

If you happen to come to Stockholm in late November -December, up to January 5, it's a must to check out the Christmas windows at the NK department store.

It's an old tradition to go and see the christmas windows at NK.

A visit to NK's Christmas displays has been a part of Stockholmers' staple holiday traditions ever since 1915.

Currently, the company that does NK window displays gets a lot of its stock from Germany.

About the photo:
It was rather difficult to find the right POV and choose the composition (there were people around looking at the windows; and the lighting conditions were not the best). Besides, using a flash was not a good idea as the light was reflected in the window glass :( So I had to do my best to take advantage of the daylight and take a photo without a flash.

There is another, similar, photo of the same scene. I will post it in Workshop.
