Seaweed Sunrise Photo

Photographer’s Note

This morning i slept through my alarm clock (as usual) but suddenly woke up to the sound of a huge crow outside my window!
I realised that i had about 10 minutes until sunrise so i jumped out of bed, got dressed in 10 seconds, got in my car, then drove to the beach, all within a 2 or 3 minutes!

I didn't even have time to find a decent composition, i just jumped down on to the beach and set up my camera, then fired off a few shots........still half asleep!!!
The result was quite interesting though with some strong colours from the increasing moisture and cloud that was spreading in from the west.
An hour later it was raining and still is now.

I used an ND8 Graduated filter

HI Jamie,
you can thanks the crow to have woken you up, it's a great sunrise POV ! great light and colors, good perspective of the long diagonal of the pier on the right of the picture. Good effect on the water.

this is a great shoot! reading your note I have just one conclusion: as time as you are asleep your photos are better and better!!!

Hi Jamie,

very good capture, rich and truthfull colors, great use of ND filter, the whole scene is evenly lit, no overexposures. Just spot on. Well done!

Very nice capture, beautiful sunrise with amazing colour. Also good foreground interest and nice effect on the water using a slower shutter speed. Nicely composed overall. Well done and TFS. (hope you get some fog soon :-)
