Photographer’s Note
On the Eastern part of Java you find the Ijen Volcano which is on of the volcanos producing sulphur. These men are walking to the top of the volcano (2.380m) and down in the crater and fill up their baskets - that can hold around 50-80 kg, and then WALK up the crater and down the hill, to get the amount of 40.000 - 50.000 rps. Its only 4-5 USD. These men are HARD working for little income. And you can just see in his eyes how hard it is. At the same time the sulphur damp/smoke surround them, so its for sure NOT good for their health at all.
Just one of many labour works that we dont know that much about.
