Photographer’s Note
I toke this picture in the begining of July, during a tour in the Rodopes mountain. I saw this place for a first time and in my oppinion is the most beautiful place in Bulgaria.
The green colour of the water probably is due to Colloidal sulphur or ferrous salts, according to Daddo
Vacha Dam, located in in South Bulgaria, is supplied with water by Vacha river, one of the main right tributaries of the Maritsa river. The river passes through Krichim Dam and Vacha Dam that secure drinking water for city of Plovdiv and its plains. The Vacha runs through the Rhodopes forming a deep valley where the two dams are located. Vacha river does not flow close to any industrial enterprises, which is the reason for its clear water. The dam is the longest in Bulgaria (30km) and also the deepest. In the widest part of the dam lake there are private floating houses inside, as well as fish-nurseries.

Hello Silvia,
The green tones are really eye catching in your excellently taken photo. Emerald colored water and harsh green proves its clarity as you described in note. Still available buildings under flood is very interesting too. Congratulations. Have a nice new week.

Zdrasti Silvia,
Beautiful place indeed! Amazing color of the water. It's such a pleasure to have a floating house in this wonderful nature! We have many of these on Belgrade rivers.
Have a nice week,

Gorgeous green view indeed, Silvia. I wonder what happened because the houses seem to be floating or in danger of getting lost under the lake. Anyway, you composed the view well with this green harm making a nice diagonal.

This is a beautiful view in green. Amazing how full the dam is and how low the trees come to the water. The houses, even if the seem to be floating, must be the remains of a village that went flooded by the rising waters of the dam. Correct?

Ciao Silvia,

Complimenti,
Donato

hello Silvia
Oh, Bulgaria is a beautiful country! Such a lovely green view of the valley, the trees on the slope and the water is also green! It impresses me a lot!
I like this POV showing the wide angle perspective of the scenery. You have composed nicely to include the patches of green on the water from diagonal angle. Great shot.

Hi Silvia,
A beautiful and very different landscape. I like the emerald green colour of the lake, could it maybe caused by cupper salts as well as sulphur or ferrous components? Indeed a very good picture and an excellent composition with the slopes down to the water, the road bank to divide the slope and those floating houses. Would be very nice to life in one of those:)

Gunnar

Zdravo Silvia Zenova. It does look like an exceptional place. The green is captivating- both of the water and the vegetation. Great POV. Lucky are those who live there.I wonder if fishing is allowed? Imagine a fresh fish market swimming past your kitchen. Budi zdrava i vesela. Klaudio.

Wow! A pallete of green colours! Very intresting shot. The houses are giving an extra twist of interest. My only objection is that the end of the isle on the bottom of the picture would show much more interesting if it was at the bottom right corner of your coposition (if that was possible of course)

Hello Silvia, I've just come across this beautiful view. The harmony of the green texture of the slopes with the turquoise colour of the dam waters is simply amazing. Congratulations, Tolga
