Photographer’s Note
This is another picture in my series of photos of our trek to The Wave in the Coyote Buttes Wilderness in Northern Arizona. I won't go into too much detail that I already wrote in the last couple posts, but it was a fight to get there ahead of the persistent storm brewing to the North. As you can see, its sunny in this photo, but eventually we were enveloped by the clouds. At that point, we tucked in our tails and started back.
This photo is a slight perversion of some of the classic shots of the wave. The formation is so distinctive, that even from here, it's easily recognizable. The lines and texture of the wave make it worth every sore joint, bone and muscle.
Curves correction, extra contrast and desaturation to photo. Hope you enjoy!

Hi Brad,
This place is just incredible : we could believe this has been done by humans, not by nature ! Great graphical composition.

Hi Brad,
Brilliant shot! And it helps to have one human figure in the frame as it signifies the magnitude of the formation. For once i thought it was a real close up shot of some rock but it is not! and it is absolutely wonderful.

Really unearthly.
I love this area. Probably one of the most beautiful and photogenic places in the world.
Very good idea for the composition, and including the person as a scale.

Hello Brad,
This is a nice composition. I like the curves made by the sand.
The background looks as if it was moving, it is a very unusual effect and I like this.
Well done.

Marianne

very interesting geological place and you created a wonderful, almost abstract image with an irresistable pattern of flowing lines.
