Photographer’s Note
to photograph the church I assembled both to stereotype, because I had very little of moves back, to expose it almost covenantaire I amalgamated each of both stereotype into three different exposure, this building being encircled of all dimensioned by other which recovered the church of their shade pronounced, and conversely the parts not hidden by the building in the neighbourhood was strongly exposed to the sun, for the members who will be able to recognize it, one to see my son little " Joss "
, it carries a blue coat with bands white on the arms and the red top, it is in feature of consulted the plan of the city,
The Saint Nicolas's Day Church is one of the last d' examples; medieval church anchored in urban environment. It goes up around 1125, but was reduced to the row of vault of Holy-Gudule in 1174 and will become parish only in 1618. One can to some extent regard it as a church of market, dedicated to l' one of the favorite owners of the merchants Saint Nicolas, bishop of Myre in Turkey to 4th S. one does not know the date of its foundation . There does not remain large-thing of the first building whose tower, mentioned in 1289 and modified after 1367, was used as belfry. Chorus of l' church was completed in 1381; it is tilted appreciably on the left. With the 16th, century, l' Saint Nicolas's Day church had to suffer from the wars of religion and was seriously touched by the bombardment of 1695
it was quickly restored, but its rebuilt tower crumbled in 1714 and was not rebuilt any more. In 1799, it was sold like national good and its furniture was bought by Ferdinand Meeus, l' old marguiller of l' church. It was repurchased by parishioners and was furnished with his old furniture, returned to the worship in 1804. A restoration in 1956 gave him white stone a new frontage of Massangis. With this occasion, some Romance vestiges were put at the day. Inside, the surprise comes from the rupture of axis between the nave and the chorus. A strange atmosphere emanates from this sanctuary: it is undoubtedly due to the darkness which reigns there, because of smallness " of bays of the nave "
, with the unaccustomed prospect and the light diffuses stained glasses, carried out in the Fifties.

Hello Dominique,
A fine capture of this beautiful church; I particularly like the way the light plays across the golden stones. The mood is enhanced by the visitors, who bring a good sense of animation, and the presence of the bird. The beautiful golden tones of the stonework contrast perfectly with the lovely blue sky. A fine contribution for Sunday.

Bonjour, cher Dominique,

Amicalement,
Jacques

Hello Dominique:
A majestic scene, I like the way they captured. Apart from this, including people on the scene, reflects how great is this beautiful church.
Good frame, and these terracotta colors of the facade, are charming. The detail of the dove is significant, but I do not like the part that faces the orange bike in my place, there would be "cloned"
