Photographer’s Note
Prassonissi beach at the southern tip of Rhodes is an amazing place. A thin spit of sand bounded on one side by the Mediterranean and on the other by the Aegean Seas. The Med side tends to be somewhat calmer and used mainly by windsurfers. The Aegean side has much bigger waves and is the domain of experienced windsurfers and the madmen who go kite surfing!
Hopefully this image goes some way to demonstrating why I think the kite surfers are crazy. Flying 30 or more feet into the air whilst attached to a giant kite doesn't seem a sane pastime to me.
That said it is certainly spectacular to watch. I fired off literally dozens of shots, but this is the only one I feel worked, at least to an extent, as it has all the elements I wanted to capture.

Hello Keith, point of view with short-nap cloth of waves to photograph with this focal distance average of 105 is well seen, it brings us directly in action and gives depth while bringing closer two in love with veil, even if it is the windsurfer which animates the scene, to see it s' to fly away with surfing with the feet, the time of suspension at the time it jump must enormously bring to him feelings, beautiful catch for a freeze frame seizing of the moment present, the wind is omnipresent in vaguenesses that instigates the subject, sincerely .....................Bonjour Keith, Le point de vue au ras des vagues photographier avec cette focale moyenne de 105 est bien vu, il nous amène directement dans l’action et donne de la profondeur en rapprochant les deux amoureux de la voile, même si c’est le windsurfer qui animent la scène, le voir s'envoler avec le surf aux pieds, le temps de suspension lors du saut doit lui apporter énormément de sensations, belle prise pour un arrêt sur image saisissant de l’instant présent,
le vent est omniprésent dans les vagues cela dynamise le sujet, bien amicalement

Ah, Keith, I remember that idyllic little spur of land well, where the two seas meet.
I like the vitality and joie-do-vie that you have captured with this shot. We may view it with reservations but what a buzz these surfers must get!
Nicely composed and sharply focussed.
Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Keith,
Spectacular shot full of action. Very well spotted and very good timing. Your placing of the windsurfer and kite surfer is close to perfect. The picture also conveys a feeling of fresh air and very nice cool winds. TFS and have a nice evening!
Cheers,
Ulf

Hello, Keith!
Very good action shot, and besides the sea is beautiful, with excellent colors! I like the inclusion of the boat for its strong color. Good job! Well done!

Hi Keith, A wonderful sports action photo. The wind does blow it seems in Greek isles at times. The moment is well captured and sharp as a tack. I read a guy like this was blown into a car and killed somewhere recently. As an old surfie, i think i will stay on the water, after seeing this. TFS. Murray.
