Photographer’s Note
rooms for rent
only joking ,but earlier many people lived in caves like these carved into the soft tuffstone and some still do in Göreme,Uchisar,Ürgüp and many other places in Cappadokia.
Many hotels and pensions offer rooms carved into the rock.
At my first visit in Cappadokkia in late october 2005 I stayed in one of these rooms in Uchisar. At night there was frost outside but inside it was very comfortable without a heating.

Hi Leo,
Gorgeous light warming up this unusual landscape. The direction of the sun makes the shapes popping-up, providing extra dimension.
Good work!

hi Leo,
I have added this photo to my "places to go" theme, the possibility to spend a night in a cave sounds very, VERY tempting :)
I like a lot the clear yet soft light, it nicely brings out the textures of this amazing natural phenomenon. I've always thought these mountains looked like a chocolate cake :) very nice work, my compliments.
regards,
Kristine

Hello Leo.
An excellent picture, almost a B&W.
The entire shot is perfectly exposed.
The rock in the fg is well placed to give depth to the shot.
Best regards.

Just fascinating, Leo!
I love that warm light and the patterns the rocks and shadows make are amazing. Perfect contrast, excellent depth and I really like the bits of green in contrast to all the warm color of the rocks around it. This is incredible. Would LOVE to get to visit there. Many thanks and warm regards,
Shelly

Hallo Andreas!
Grüße aus dem grautrüben Siegen!

Hi Leo
I like very much the shapes of the mountains under this warm light. As you describe it, a night inside one of the troglodyte dwellings is a joyful perspective. Thanks for the idea!
I am a bit late to celebrate your 500th post, but congratulations! And for your 504th too!
Best regards

Hi Leo,
This landscape is amazing, so different from what we use to see!
TFS! I am looking at your photo on a laptop and I played with the angle of my screen. Then, colours go from pale yellow to golden warm tones (and this gives an amazing result!).
Nice view!
Regards,
Marianne

Hallo Andreas,
I think we both stood at the same point here, i have also such an image in one of my many boxes upstairs.
But i know for sure my light was not as good this one, this is much warmer and gives a much niceer impression on the area. A nice view with good light in this strange but very interesting landscape...

Hi Leo,
Wirklich sehr gute Arbeit, gefällt mir richtig gut!
Beste Grüße
Mark

This is a place that I have to visit one day - the shapes of the hills are incredible and beautiful. Nice angle of light for this, which shows the smooth curves very well. Interesting about how the rooms are warm inside even on a cold day. Thanks for sharing!

Hello Leo
Thse structures, even though I've seen pictures earlier, look crazy! Like the toppings of an icecream on a cone. Bathed in nice warm light, they look good here. I'm sure it's not easy to take pictures of these structures, but you've done well here. Good work!
Best Regards

Leo,
I was directed here from you pano view. While I like the pano view it give the overall view of the area, showing just how massive the place is, but I also really like the close up look and details of this one, it give, it amazing this landscape and how people can carved out the place for living or at least rented it out to a certain German tourist, :) Beautiful light and great details composition. I love it.
