Five Months Earlier... Photo

Photographer’s Note

I know this photo is perhaps not the best compostionally or technically, but I remember it from my collection of images from San Francisco (where I visited in June, 2008) and thought it was appropriate to share here in light of last night's events. I remember the man who was staffing this booth clearly- his determination for Barack Obama's victory and his positive energy. I think he was disappointed when I said I couldn't vote in the election, though... Ah well, it seems my vote wasn't necessary for the win!

Great shot of the daily life of people in San Francisco. I think it is an interesting composition, actually. You have a great mix of colors; the taxi is a great added touch... but an important photo in years to come as well, I think!

Hi Sarah,
For a street snapshot, I think that the compo is well done. We managed to avoid the cluttered aspect that is quite common in such views. I find it much effective as documentary of the street and the situation you want to show.

Your story is very interesting, good pov to show a selected corner from the busy city full in election atmosphere, lively to see many crossing citizen, thanks for sharing colourful urban view.
