Photographer’s Note

Here is the medieval town of Barga in the province of Lucca in Tuscany.

Barga has lots of connections with Scotland and has many Scottish people living there, mainly from Glasgow.

This was taken from the top of the town, where there is a church, and gives a good view of Barga and the surrounding mountains.

It was in Barga that I had one of the best ice-creams in the world!

Hello Blair,
Yes, yes, yes, I had an ice-cream there too and it was fantastic, I'd forgotten about it until I read your note, I can taste it now.
Beautiful shot, the view past the villa onto the valley and the far hills is stunning. The wide lens shows the scene so well. Did you have to correct any distortion or was this how it was captured..
Such a beautiful shot, I've been to Lucca and surrounds so many times, this shot brings back all the wonderful memories, TFS.

I like a lot the distorsion of the wide lens. Excellent choice to put the red house in the FG.

Hi Blair,
very nice shot! I see you used the 10-22mm here, really an awesome lens, they should make an EF version of this, maybe a L version and I`ll be the first one to buy it! This extreme wide angle range gave you a great effect, without it, it wouldn`T be that interesting. Man, 10mm, makes 16mm on a cropped sensor, means I know what my 17-40mm can do on a FF sensor ;-) I want this camera soooo bad!!!
Very nice shot, pity about the cars, but that`s something I can live with, this wide angle effect together with this sky is priceless!

A good angled, high pov, with excellent warm vs cold colour contrasts, between the red ochre facades of the fg building & its roof, & the blue sky. Tfs!
