Photographer’s Note

The famous St Basil`s Cathedral is a delightful array of swirling colors and redbrick towers. Its design comprises nine individual chapels, each topped with a unique onion dome and each commemorating a victorious assault on the city of Kazan. The church's design is based on deep religious symbolism and was meant to be an architectural representation of the New Jerusalem - the Heavenly Kingdom described in the Book of Revelation of St. John the Divine. It was built in the 16th century (1555-1561) on Red Square by Ivan the Terrible.

Superb picture Arthur, such clarity and colours. This is really set off well against the threatening sky.
Maybe i would have just cropped a little off the right and left to remove the lamposts.

This is a very photographed Cathedral, but I never saw it with such sky! Instead of reducing the intensity of colours, seems to highlight them. Nice shot!

Amazing colors and sharpness, and the lighting is just wonderful. The cathedral set against such a dramatic sky is just gorgeous.

Privyet Arthur, a very beautifull photo of a very famous building, the colors on the dome are superb and the light on them really great too, the dark cloudy sky creates a contrast and adds to the composition, it's just superb !

Ouf!!! What a beautiful picture! The colors, the sky, it's sharp! Congratulation!!!! Only a small detail. If you could crop the lamp on the bottom left it would be perfect.

I love the clarity of the shot and the colors of the church against the dark sky. Excellent lighting conditions. And nicely composed giving the church a strong appearance standing alone against the sky. The inclusion of the statue at the bottom adds an extra power with the pointing and looking skyward. And present beautiful lines and shapes on the church.
