Photographer’s Note
This is my detail from a large landscape sculpture by an artist from Beijing. It is part of an exhibition of art from and about that city being held at the Gas Hall in the UK city of Birmingham. Much of the work is contemporary and political and comments on the life and environment of the evolving chinese city.
I am guilty of not referencing the artist and I am sorry for that. I was so taken with this detail I forgot.

Hi Martin,
nice close up shot of the sculpture. Sounds like an interesting exhibition. The Chinese aren't (weren't) known for their art or politically comments, but i'm glad it's starting to be.
TFS.

Interesting b&w picture, "noise" on the picture gives a flavour of old pictures, with modernity of the graphism you've selected..
Nice shot.
bonne journée,

Interesting to see this Martin - i made a couple of trips to China last year to meet Chinese artists and have been working with some here recently too - looks like interesting work - I found it very interesting to talk to Chinese artists - both 'officially' and then in more informal settings - independence of mind is finding more and more expression in so many ways.....alongside a more constrained public face.......
I like your treatment of the image subject.
all the best for 2009
Kev
