Photographer’s Note
Hi,
As Karen raised my interest about B&W conversion, here is my first attempt.
I have to admit that the color version looks gorgeous:)...
So,what do you think?
The place is right at MacArthur Lake, in Yoho National Park.

Hello Nelu,
I like your picture. The first thing our eyes see is the trees on the dark sky. Then, we see the dark pines on the right. But the contrasts in the middle of the picture are not very big so it's a bit difficult to distinguish elements. The highest part of the picture is really beautiful. Maybe could you frame the picture to focus on the path, the mountain and some trees on each side. Only a small suggestion.
Beautiful shot anyway :)

When I first joined Trekearth I was not a huge fan of b&w , but over time I've come to appreciate it more and more. This is a perfect example, with excellent light and contrast. A beautiful scene!! This has a very nice mood and mystery to it. TFS

Hi Nelu,
The bw conversion, almost like an infrared picture works very well, the texture in the trees is nice.
just the mountain is small in your composition.

Hello Nelu,
I think your B&W version looks fine with all the details and contrast well preserved. Its easy to be drawn to a coloured version and offer good comments immediately, but a B&W version makes the viewer evaluates a photo from a different angle.
The quality of this shot is unquestionable, but the cropped version in the WS makes me wonder if a vertical framing could work better for this beautiful scenery shot.
TFS,
Best regards
Alfred
