Castle Gleiberg - once more Photo

Photographer’s Note

Some days ago I again visited the castles Vetzberg and Gleiberg near Gießen in the federal state Hessen. Here I show you the view from castle Vetzberg to its neighbour castle Gleiberg - only 1,4 kilometers away. My last photo was taken there 4 weeks ago. It's interesting to notice the advancement of autumn in this time.

My photo was taken under a slightly overcast sky in the light of the late afternoon sun. This light - I think - creates a special atmosphere.

Last night we have had -3°C, I think this splendour is over now ...

In the workshop you can see the castle from another angle.

Guten Morgen Frank!
Ich fahre auch gleich nach Hessen.....
Wieder mal zeigst Du uns ein schönes Stück Heimat.Die herbstlichen Rottöne bilden einen schönen Kontrast zum Grün daß immer mehr verschwindet.Die stolze Burg etwas ausserhalb der Mitte macht sich gut vor dem bläulichen Hintergrund.

Un joli cliché avec ce château qui domine la situation, sans doute pour voir arriver l'ennemi dans les temps anciens. La végétation a revetu sa tenue d'automne.

Beautiful castle in a large country in autumnal colors, well done Frank, even if colors are a bit strong to my taste I really like this pleasant view of the caste.

Hi Frank,
Autumn is very apparent now and the colours here are at their best! I like your composition here with the tower slightly off-centre to the left and that line of trees bending to the right and providing a fine balance to the picture.

Hallo Frank,
ein schönes Landschaftsfoto mit herbstlichen Farben und oberhalb thront die Burg Gleiberg auf dem Hügel. Mir gefällt vor allem der Kontrast der Herbstfärbung zu den verschiedenen Grüntönen. Die braunen Felder bilden ebenfall gelungene farbliche Abgrenzungen. Toll gesehen und von einem guten Standort aus umgesetzt.
Bei uns schneit bzw. graupelt es schon den ganzen Morgen. Ich fühl mit dir mit.

Bonjour Frank,
Très belle composition avec un sujet qui le mérite. Le château est idéalement positionné sur l'image qui nous présente son environnement et... ce qu'il était censé protéger ;o)
J'aperçois de très belles couleurs automnales.

De Mt St-Grégoire sous une tempête de neige par un +0,.. °C. La neige ne tient pas au sol !

Bonsoir Frank, ami,

ta position est optimale pour donner la meilleure idee de "se qui se passe" a Gleiberg. La date choisie contribue aussi a la richesse de l'image. Le chateau superbe et fier donne le poid a cette tres belle creation. Je comprends ton inspiration et je suis seduit par la beaute de la region. Mes amities sinceres, tout en esperant que l'hiver va etre gentille en Allemagne.

Hello Frank,

It is always interesting to see how they picked the location when establishing a stronghold!
The highest elevation in the area was easier to defend, and it was also a reminder of the presence of the nobility...
I notice the fine autumn colours this year, and the fine light makes the really stand out here!

Straight off I will say, that the present picture more to me pleases. Why: And so firstly: you lengthened a little focal - showing more details of yourself of castle as and his environments. Secondly: four weeks sufficed, completely to change colouring of trees and shrubs round. Present photo on that score is fantastic. Splendid colours, very good composition, is visible many details of castle
Vetzberg. Well, that you came back up to there!

Indeed, a significant difference in tree colours to the ones 4 weeks ago. You have caught the autumnal late afternoon light and atmosphere very nicely. The colours are lovely and so are the other aspects in this beautiful shot. Excellent work!

This castle from this POV look unbeleivably classic, it's a model castle, so to say. Great photo!
Autumnal colors of the trees adds to the general scenery, it's really very good work.
