Tricycle Taxi Photo

Photographer’s Note

These tricycle taxis are a fairly new phenomenon in New York City. I started seeing a few of them on the streets about two years ago but now, they are everywhere. These tricycle taxi will "drive" you anywhere in Manhattan if you pay the right fare.
Fast way to get around the city traffic but a little bit dangerous in my opinion.. :))

Thanks to Hugh Siegel "bombilla", with his help I was able to accomplished this shot.
His intructions were very simple:
"You just have to be patient and get in the rhythm of it".

Jorge,

nice to see that the rikshaws are now also entering the streets of NY :) Good effect with the moving cam!
Although I like the frame, you better do not use it again, it's not allowed on TE! (on TL it is), and if the moderators will find it, it will be removed - including with the critiques people wrote.

About your note, the EXIF data are helpful, but it is possible to show it on the left, it would be more helpful if you explain what technique you used when taking the photo and post processing.

Hi Jorge,
The panned tricycle taxi looks very attractive. The city atmosphere seems a bit chaotic due to the heavy traffic , thanks to this tricycles you can go anywhere you want although it is recommended by you:)

Hi Jorge!
I like your panning style, here, with a very interesting subject. I ignored there were such transportation in New York! I hadn't look immediately the location and thought it was in Asia!!! That's very well rendered with the colorful city lights in the background, while the tricycle in itself is sharp. I hope you won't mind, I just have tried a WS for the pleasure to play on colors.

This image really pleases me. You have obviously got paid for being patient. In a wonderful way, you manage to take the city on the pulse. The colours and the reflections, and the impression of speed makes this a great panning shot from the non-sleeping city. Good sharpness on the colourful tricyckle taxi/rikshaw as well. Great insipration, I just have to be patient and give it a try...
