Almost Sepia! Photo

Photographer’s Note

We were visiting this castel near Brugge and the light get in such a strange way filterd by the clouds that the landschape become almost sepia color!!
Unfortunaly i don't know anymore the name of the cstle but i have seen it before here at TE. Can someone help us with the name?

Hallo,

Ik ken dit kasteel zelf niet, helemààl aan de andere kant van het land voor mij, maar het doet me denken aan iets stripverhaalachtige, Suske en Wiske of de Rode Ridder. Ook de tinten en de stormachtige lucht doet dit. Ik ben samen met jullie benieuwd naar de naam van dit pareltje. Mooi fotowerk!

Hello Kik,

A lovely, detailed shot of this delightful castle displaying the architecture with sharp focus.

There is a nice lead-in from the bridge and the tiny l/h corner of vegetation, balanced by the upper r/h twigs, assists the overall composition.

The dark sky suggests a sombre mood.

Olá KIKS, this one reminds me the pictures of Jaap (carper). The light is strange indeed and a bit scarce, but I like the resulting mood and the framing is quite nice with golden vegetation at left and some branchs on the opposite corner. The architecture surrounded by water is spectacular.

Hi Kik,
You're right, the light has a soft, slightly reddish-magenta quality that gives the picture a painterly feel. I think it works very well with this subject, enhancing the castle's slightly gothic and mysterious air. Nicely done.

Captivating. The castle stares off the image like a professional model. The bridge guides your eyes to the red gate of entry into superb colors and detail. Great composition. The grass in the foreground shows good depth of field.

Hi, Kik,

You really have captured magical light in this photo. Combined with this subject -- a castle surrounded by a moat -- it has a strong fairy-tale feel.

You've used the framing elements nicely, the touch of vegetation in the upper right and lower left corners.

Clarity and sharpness are quite good and the colors, a bit subdued, are appropriate.
