Photographer’s Note

I've been driving by this architectural masterpiece (just kidding) on the road from Toroni to Kalamitsi (Sithonia/Halkidiki peninsula) many many times. For some reason this house always fascinated me. But I never found the time to take a picture of it. Whenever I drove by the house I was either in a hurry or had simply forgot to bring my camera. This summer I finally found the time to pull over and take a picture of the house. Unfortunately this was the best shot I could take (if you've ever been to Greece and are familiar with the habits of many Greek drivers, you will understand that standing in the middle of the road to take a picture is simply not an option).

Very nice composition. I like how the roof blends in the hills and the house with the bare earth behind it. It definitely looks like it is about to melt back into the land from which it came.

Well done and I'm glad you didn't try standing in the middle of the road.

Hallo Natasha,

ein wenig Farbe und ein bißchen handwerkliches Geschick könnten daraus durchaus eine kleine Schönheit werden lassen, allerdings bietet sich die Lage an der Straße eher für ein Stop-in-Imbiß oder ähnliches an..
Gratulation zu diesem un gewhnlichen Foto, und zum Mut es zu fotografieren (mitten auf der Straße)..

Nice building and nice colours. The house is in the middle and I think tt would be better to have it a little bit aside so I hope you dont mind a workshop try.

es ist Dir sehr gut gelungen, dieses alte baufällige Haus in den Mittelpunkt zu stellen.
Ob es je wieder bewohnt wird? Fürchte eher nicht. Gratulation zu diesem Bild.

La casa es exactamente del color de la tierra, la vegetación mediterránea árida es fantástica. Me gusta el cielo, esa luz de sol nublado es la mejor en el final del verano.
Esta foto me recuerda muchísimo a mi país, aunque la arquitectura de la casa es un poco diferente (el tejado a 4 aguas y el empleo de la madera en las ventanas son típicos de Europa oriental). La piedra y adobe, igual que donde vivo.
Foto muy especial, y real.
